Akshay Kumar's upcoming horror-comedy, Bhooth Bangla, has a new release date. It will now hit theaters on May 15, 2026, moving up from its original date of April 2.

Balaji Motion Pictures announced the update on social media, saying, "Bangle se ek khabar aayi hai! The doors open on 15th May 2026. See you in cinemas." Sources indicate that the producers wanted to avoid competing directly with Dhurandhar 2, which is set to release on March 19, 2026.

The first movie in the Dhurandhar franchise was a massive success, becoming the highest-grossing Indian film in a single language. With high hopes for its sequel, the Bhooth Bangla team decided it would be better to give their film more space to attract family audiences.

Homebound Misses the Oscar Boat

In a surprising twist, Homebound has been snubbed for a nomination in the Best International Feature Film category at the 2026 Oscars. The last Indian film to grace the Academy Awards nominations was Aamir Khan’s iconic Lagaan back in 2002. Produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Adar Poonawalla under Dharma Productions, Homebound draws inspiration from a 2020 New York Times article by Basharat Peer. The film tells the poignant tale of two friends, Shoaib and Chandan, who navigate the challenges of their oppressed backgrounds amid a society riddled with systemic discrimination. Se
