Renowned filmmaker Imtiaz Ali is set to team up once again with actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh for a brand-new film, scheduled to arrive in cinemas in April 2026. The release will coincide with Baisakhi, adding a cultural resonance to the project.

This upcoming untitled film is described as a “soulful tale of love and yearning,” and marks the second creative partnership between Ali and Dosanjh after the critically acclaimed Amar Singh Chamkila, which released in 2024.

Joining the cast are celebrated veteran Naseeruddin Shah, along with rising stars Vedang Raina and Sharvari. The story, set in a contemporary backdrop, is expected to be a witty yet heartfelt exploration of emotional bonds and the complexities of human connection.

This film also brings together once again the creative powerhouse of Imtiaz Ali, composer AR Rahman, and lyricist Irshad Kamil. Their collaborations in Rockstar, Tamasha, and Amar Singh Chamkila have delivered some of Indian cinema’s most iconic soundtracks.
