Canada Super60, a cricket tournament played at Vancouver's iconic BC Place Stadium, concluded Monday night. Brampton Blitz defeated the Montreal Royal Tigers in a lopsided contest in yesterday's title match.

In the final match, the Montreal Royal Tigers team could not even last the full 10 overs and were all out for 69 runs in 8 overs. In reply, the Brampton Blitz team achieved the target in the 6th over.

This tournament was organized by cricketer Yuvraj Singh along with some other organizers. Yesterday, on the last day of the league, Yuvraj Singh arrived with his family and he also took a tour of the stadium with his wife and children to thank the people who had come to the stadium.

Yuvi was present throughout the presentation ceremony and was the one who presented the trophy to the winning team and immediately walked away from the camera smiling so that the focus of the occasion was not on himself but on the winning team.

New trial ordered in Alberta homicide case after appeal court overturns murder conviction

Alberta’s Court of Appeal has ordered a new trial for a man previously convicted in the 2020 death of his common-law partner, finding legal errors in how intent was assessed at trial. In a decision released Friday, the court overturned Ryan Applegarth’s 2023 conviction for second-degree murder in the death of 26-year-old Chantelle Firingstoney. According to the ruling, the trial judge did not make a required finding that Applegarth intended to kill, a key element for a murder conviction.
