A senior Enforcement Directorate officer posted in Punjab has been transferred days after summons were issued to former Punjab chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh and his son Raninder Singh in connection with an ongoing investigation.

Official sources confirmed that Additional Director Ravi Tiwari has been reassigned to Chennai as part of an administrative transfer. The move has drawn attention in political circles, where it is being viewed in the context of the recent summons sent to the former chief minister and his son.

The Enforcement Directorate had asked Raninder Singh to appear on February 12 and Captain Amarinder Singh on February 13. However, neither appeared before the agency on the scheduled dates. According to information available, Amarinder Singh is currently admitted to a hospital in Mohali for knee surgery.

The summons are linked to a long-running investigation involving Raninder Singh. The agency has not publicly commented on the reasons for the transfer, and it remains unclear whether the move is directly connected to the case.

The developments come amid continued scrutiny of high-profile political figures by central investigative agencies, a matter that has frequently triggered political debate in Punjab and across India.
