Following Khan’s arrest on May 9 last year, his supporters had attacked and torched several military buildings and offices to protest against what they describe as the illegal detention of their leader.

Former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan has alleged that dictatorship is prevailing in the country. He made this claim in a lengthy post on his X account on Thursday night.

Khan's party, PTI, also outlined its plans for future agitation. In the post, Khan stated that dictatorship has been established in Pakistan.

He accused the government of using terrorism to target innocent and peaceful political workers, with many being shot dead. He also claimed that thousands of their workers are missing, urging the Supreme Court to take notice of the situation and fulfill its constitutional role.

Through his message, Imran Khan called for the release of under-trial political prisoners and the formation of a judicial commission to conduct a transparent investigation into the incidents of May 9 and November 26. He warned that if these demands are not met, PTI will launch an agitation starting December 14.
