Surrey: Overnight shooting in Newton area injures three

Surrey Police Service (SPS) is investigating an overnight shooting in Newton that injured three people during the early morning hours of July 15, 2025.

On July 15, 2025, at approximately 1:00 am four people were travelling eastbound in their car on 84 Avenue near 140 Street, Surrey when a white Tesla Model 3 with an unknown Ontario licence plate occupied by three suspects pulled alongside their vehicle and fired numerous shots at them. The suspects then fled the area. The four victims then made their way to the SPS District 3 office and contacted police.

BCEHS were contacted, attended the scene, and treated three of the four adult male victims for non-life-threatening injuries related to gunshot wounds. The three males were then transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

SPS Frontline Investigative Support Team (FLIS) members were contacted and assisted with the initial investigation. SPS Serious Crime Unit (SCU) have taken conduct of the investigation, and the victims are cooperating with investigators.

The motive for the shooting is still under investigation however, it appears to be related to a road rage incident.

The suspects are described as:
