Prime Minister Mark Carney’s government is preparing to take several steps to attract more foreign investment and support economic growth, with some of the key measures expected to be unveiled in the upcoming fall federal budget.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister has assigned several ministers to actively engage with businesses and help them access available government support. As part of the initiative, Industry Minister Mélanie Joly and Finance Minister François-Philippe Champagne will travel across Canada to meet with business leaders and guide them through the process of applying for government assistance during the current economic challenges.

According to Audrey Champoux, deputy director of communications in the Prime Minister’s Office, Carney’s current priorities include affordable housing, new infrastructure and next week’s investment summit, which aims to position Canada as a more attractive destination for foreign capital.

Champoux said the fall budget will go further in making Canadian businesses more competitive.
