Between May and June 2025, officers collaborating on this Joint Forces Operation targeted hotspot locations across the GTA, leading to the investigation of 684 vehicles and the seizure of nearly 100. More than 2,100 charges were laid, including 86 for stunt driving and 125 for unnecessary noise.

Examples of offences include:

  • On May 17, while conducting proactive speed enforcement, officers observed a driver traveling at 209 km/h. The driver was charged with stunt driving.
  • On May 18, a collision occurred when the driver of a white vehicle ran a red light and struck a silver pickup truck, causing it to flip onto its roof. Prior to the collision, the white vehicle was present at a street racing event. The driver of the white vehicle was charged with dangerous operation, stunt driving, and racing a motor vehicle.

Project ERASE is an annual, multi-jurisdictional enforcement campaign that focuses on high-visibility, strategic operations to address street racing, stunt driving and illegal car rallies across the Greater Toronto Area.

Peel Regional Police is proud to partner with Ontario Provincial Police, Toronto Police Service, York Regional Police, Halton Regional Police, and Hamilton Police Service on Project ERASE.

To help keep roads safe, members of the public are urged to report dangerous driving behaviours by contacting Road Safety Services at 905-453-3311 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), or by filing an online report via Road Watch.
