Abbotsford police are investigating a serious single-vehicle collision that left three people injured, including one person who was airlifted to hospital in life-threatening condition.

According to an Abbotsford Police Department release, patrol officers responded to the crash at approximately 12:14 a.m. on June 1 near Highway 11 and Townshipline Road.

Emergency crews found a black Chrysler 300 with extensive damage and three occupants suffering from serious injuries. All three were transported to hospital for treatment, police said.

The investigation is being led by the Abbotsford Police Department's General Investigative Section with assistance from the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS). Early findings indicate the vehicle was travelling eastbound on Townshipline Road west of Highway 11 when it failed to negotiate a turn, lost control, struck the centre concrete barrier and crossed over Highway 11.

Investigators are seeking witnesses and anyone who may have observed the vehicle before the collision. Police are also asking drivers with dash camera footage from the area around the time of the crash to come forward.
