A disturbing incident has been reported at Redwood Park in South Surrey, where a man was caught on camera chasing another man with a knife.

The incident happened around 5 p.m. Wednesday. According to police, the suspect first rammed his Jeep Wrangler into the victim’s Ford pickup truck. He then climbed onto the roof of the truck while holding a knife.

When the victim ran away, the suspect chased him with the weapon in his hand. A Tesla driver who had arrived at the park for a photoshoot recorded the entire incident and helped the fleeing victim by taking him into the vehicle and keeping him safe until police arrived.

Police identified the suspect as 37-year-old Richard Mark James Evoy. Surrey RCMP have charged him with five offences, including assault and criminal harassment.

Police said the three people involved, including a woman seen in the video, knew each other beforehand. While police have not disclosed the reason for the confrontation, reports indicate that Evoy was the woman’s former boyfriend and allegedly became upset after seeing her spending time with the other man.

B.C. Provincial Election Turnout Hits 30-Year Low at 48.14%

Voter turnout in British Columbia’s provincial election has dropped to its lowest level in at least 30 years. Experts believe the sharp decline may be linked to former Premier David Eby’s decision to call a snap election two years ahead of schedule, as well as the timing of municipal elections around the same period. According to the report, the B.C. NDP received
