India Blocks Five More OTT Apps Over Obscene Content
Nearly a year after taking action against over 25 streaming platforms, the Government of India has once again cracked down on digital content by banning five additional OTT services for allegedly carrying obscene material.
The newly restricted platforms - MoodXVIP, Koyal Playpro, Digi Movieplex, Feel, and Jugnu — were blocked under the Information Technology Act and the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021.
Officials said the decision followed consultations with key ministries and industry bodies to assess concerns around harmful online
